Alright, before I start, let me say that at no time in my life have I disliked Smashing Pumpkins.
All through high school, I liked just about every song of theirs I heard on the radio -- "Cherub Rock," "Today," "Drown," "Disarm," "Bullet with Butterfly Wings," "Zero," "1979," "Tonight Tonight," "Stand Inside Your Love," even "Ava Adore." But in spite of all that, I, myself had never owned a Smashing Pumpkins album of my own. A lot of my friends did, and I always really liked it when I heard it.
Well, recently, I gave their first album, Gish, a spin, and my god, it was amazing. Later on, I wound up rolling through Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Machina/The Machines of God and Adore. They're amazing!
Where have I been, people?
And better yet, do you have a band that you liked, semi-ignored, and later realized their brilliance??
I have to go now, and listen to Mellon Collie again.
