i find the black keys excellent music for cooking food, accompanied by pseudo white man dancing/air guitar!
going from there in a complete 180 i have radiohead's hail to the thief in my car.....so i must say kudos to your sig there Nicholas...easily one of their best songs in their catalog.
I am, and I am really pumped. No, the Fratellis are opening. I caught the last 4 songs or so of their set at Coachella, and they're alright. They're not the Black Angels, though, I can tell you that.
This'll be my 4th time catching BRMC, and I'm pretty sure that their show at the Fillmore in San Francisco last year is one of the 4 or 5 greatest shows I've ever seen.
So, yes, I'm excited.

Well if that's the case, then that's all kinds of awesome.
UPDATE: Well, the BRMC site says it's the Fratellis, the Black Angels' site says it's the Black Angels, and the Fratellis site says they're not playing any shows until mid-June.
So, if I were a betting man, I'd say it's the Black Angels opening tonight. Which is excellent, I have to say.
UPDATE 2: I just saw on the real BRMC site that the Fratellis are out, due to exhaustion. So it's definintely the Black Angels tonight. Right on.

It was great. The Black Angels were really loud and punishing through their whole set, very impressive. I think they'd make a great soundtrack to an indie horror movie sometime.
As for BRMC, they were excellent. They played a good chunk of Baby 81, and towards the end, instead of taking a break and then playing an encore, Peter Hayes played acoustic while the rest of the band took a two-song break. Robert Levon Breem came out then and played "Mercy" by himself, and then the entire band was back to do some more stuff off of HOWL (including "Howl" and "Ain't No Easy Way," methinks).
I've said this before, but I'll say it again. If you ever, ever, ever get the chance to see these guys, do it. They're pretty much in total control at all times, and they can do whatever they want onstage. From a bad-ass rock n' roll band to railroad songs to the trombone, I mean... jeez, it just never ends. They're easily one of the best bands going right now, and they're right smack in the middle of their "prime." Check 'em out. Seriously.
