Curious what people's thoughts are. I think this would have added a lot of depth if they included it on Backspacer. I am not too critical of the album, like Nick, but I think it needed a bit more length and depth, especially as compared to their other albums.
I feel like if Long Road had a kid with Oceans, it would result in this song, which is a tremendous complement considering those are two of my all time favorites of theirs. It's not nearly as good as either of them, but the direction of the song is really awesome to my ears.
wow, liebzz ol' buddy- i ain't trying to go back to the days when you andi could disagree on whether it was light or dark outside but, 'sheesh, that song is awful...
i mean awful as in 'bu$hleager' or 'sleight o hand' awful... wow...
i mean, i kinda dig the organic nature of it- i think of a drunk-eddie playing his accordian and sort of making up transendental lyrics but, ugh, that was not a good song.
To each their own I guess. But then again...I enjoy Sleight Of Hand.
I think it is nice to get something a little off the standard path. I mean, I consistently defend Backspacer and enjoy the album a lot, but it is spoon-fed garden variety Pearl Jam with very few twists and turns...good to see they still have twists and turns.
yeah I think I really like Of the Earth too, I only listened to it twice, the second time it randomly came up on that PJ Radio thing so I didnt recognize it at first and the first thing I thought it sounded like was The Bends
I still have not listened to PJ Radio. I will someday, but that day has not come. Still busy listening to those MSG shows I went to last month. Only heard Of the Earth once, but really liked it.
